Scarlet
We nailed it on the first try.

Mitchell
You mean the music actually happened as it was expected to do. Yes. Okay. Yeah. This is episode number. I don’t know. 14? No, it’s 16 for sure. 17. Sweet 16 was last time.

Scarlet
Oh my goodness.

Mitchell
This is 17, like iPhone 17 just released.

Scarlet
So that’s how. And then after 17 comes 18.

Mitchell
Yeah, and so on and so forth. So I guess nailed it, as we say. All right.

Scarlet
All right, let’s do this.

Mitchell
Let’s do this. If you’re tuning in, this is Doing the Most with Scarlet and Mitchell, our podcast, which serves as some sort of a warning for you. Or not. A cautionary tale. or not or just a good time you know some or not wow some podcasts are really the whole point is just like you’re just like listening to zone out chill out veg out maybe laugh a little louder

Scarlet
spill a little tea you know what i’m saying that’s stuff in grocery store scenes yeah which is funny

Mitchell
our son uh who’s four is walking around singing the song sometimes it’s cute i know sorry that mouse is uh being goofy you can also watch on youtube i always want to like my mother was like oh i can only hear it i thought you’re probably just the podcast part you have to go to youtube to watch this i know which you could go to youtube people on i know all the numbers not a lot of people watch on youtube but some people do and that’s fine i mean oh my gosh thank you youtube also hosts hosts houses the podcast as well because once the podcast goes out youtube will gladly like they put podcasts I don’t know if people are well I could look at that I don’t really care boy I should just calm down I should be

Scarlet
calm why should I be calm you’re glowing

Mitchell
you are as well so I just wanted to tell you a lovely wife you’re glowing yeah and why are you glowing oh oh no we’re not because I just

Scarlet
finished cleaning up all the cat mess that we came

Mitchell
home to what a cat mess for you is generally vomit, hair, what else?

Scarlet
There was some vomit, hair balls. I, you know.

Mitchell
And I remind the listener that we are a five cat household. That’s part of how we’re doing the most. We would like to be four.

Scarlet
So if anybody’s looking to adopt. Interesting.

Mitchell
Or if you want a brother-sister pair, I think that they would also be.

Scarlet
We love them. It’s just a lot.

Mitchell
We love all the cats.

Scarlet
It’s just a lot.

Mitchell
Yeah. We’re also full-time nurses, which is also a lot.

Scarlet
And I know what you’re thinking. Like, didn’t you guys get yourself into this mess? And kind of. The fifth one was an accident.

Mitchell
Well, I tried to avoid that fifth one. And you were the one. I mean, yeah.

Scarlet
My heart is too soft. For a little kitty, it’s too soft.

Mitchell
We were both there when it happened. I get it, people. I know what you’re saying. I was part of a participant as well on the fifth cat.

Scarlet
Yeah, he’s a great cat.

Mitchell
I was driving the car. He has the potential.

Scarlet
He’s still a kitten and has a little feistiness to him, I guess. I don’t know. He has the potential to be a great cat for somebody.

Mitchell
So in that, somebody could be you. Reach out to us at scarletandmitchell.com.

Scarlet
I do love him.

Mitchell
Okay.

Scarlet
I just don’t want anybody to be mistaken that this is, well, that’s kind of cold.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
Because sometimes I watch videos of like people who just like put cats in the box on a side of a road.

Mitchell
Oh, yeah.

Scarlet
And that like, I don’t even know why I do this to myself in the mornings. I pull up TikTok and the first video is like, oh, somebody just dropped this box of newborn kittens on the side of the road. And I will be sobbing because like just who could do that? Who could do that?

Mitchell
You could do that? Well, like on the side of a road? maybe I’d put it near a, no, I couldn’t do that. No, I shouldn’t.

Scarlet
Okay, because I was about to be like, then we just need to stop this podcast because I don’t even know who I’m married to.

Mitchell
That’s gross. I was just in my head imagining a box of five cats somewhere. I don’t know. I was like, well, that’s how I was like, could I do it? I was imagining all our five cats in a box. And then from there, I was just imagining them fighting in a box and I was kind of lost in my own thoughts. But yeah, five cats in a box. That’s the name of our new podcast, sister podcast to this one.

Scarlet
yeah and our house is the sad box yeah i mean we still don’t even know where beans came from but

Mitchell
whatever that’s the fifth cat the fifth beetle what do you mean where he came from well i mean an intersection in oregon city i know that i mean like we don’t know like like was he was there a box of cats somewhere and he just ran away was there a there’s a part i don’t know that’s what

Scarlet
i mean like we don’t know where he came from he would have he would have gotten run over he would have died he was yeah and i know i would have been none the none the worse whatever none the wiser

Mitchell
he might have been suffering from anemia flea bite induced anemia he was teeming with fleas we’ve already told that story anyways we are doing the most or the least or depends on the day of the week

Scarlet
so what is on your agenda let me tell you what I’m so tired of

Mitchell
oh I’m so tired

Scarlet
I am every time I find a good butt wipe

Mitchell
okay

Scarlet
hygiene wipe

Mitchell
sorry yeah there but some of them i feel like there are some called just straight up

Scarlet
butt wipes they i’m like oh yeah this is the one i’m gonna start buying routinely and then

Mitchell
they change it up on me yeah no it started with costco had a decent bottom wipe yeah right hygiene

Scarlet
wipe we’ll call them hygiene wipes they had a decent hygiene wipe better than cotton ale cotton Cottonelle puts some sort of chemical that…

Mitchell
That’s when I said smelled like kind of like sour apple or just apple. It just smells apple-y. So, Cottonelle was like big no. But the problem with Cottonelle, as you recall, the Cottonelle, the material was like when you wrestled one of the Cottonelle out of the package, it would not… They were not perforated enough. So, then you’d pull one, like three of them out and they were not like properly like cut anywhere and you’re just kind of tearing them hoping that you found the appropriate size hygiene wipe and it’s kind of like uh yeah that one so i didn’t the smell didn’t bother me what about

Scarlet
the grip of the cotton else smell didn’t bother me the thickness was good it was just the lack of good perforations but well no there was a chemical that would oh like my skin did not agree

Mitchell
with aha okay i’m like i was okay with him except for the perforation issue so costco originally i

Scarlet
feel like that one started out good but now they’re so terry like like you pull them out and it’s like

Mitchell
a little thumb size piece and then like and then you tear it there’s then there’s a hole in the

Scarlet
middle and you’re like well this defeats the purpose and then you’re wrestling out the next one and you’re tearing it yeah next thing you know you’re wasting four or five of them just with a

Mitchell
whole pile of thumb-sized wipes and i feel like did they switch the did they originally have a peel a peel open as opposed to a flapper or did they you know they always had the flapper

Scarlet
that you know the plastic attached that you could open it i like that yes and i like that better but yes i well i don’t remember if they had a i feel like they switched theirs originally the original

Mitchell
costco maybe i feel like that boy i didn’t know where i’m going i would have prepared better

Scarlet
um we’re talking hygiene no i don’t want to go into too much on this because we’re going to bore

Mitchell
but then we went Kroger.

Scarlet
Because I shop at Fred Meyer probably a couple of times a week after I dropped Max off of school. I found the Kroger ones and I was like, okay, these ones are pretty solid. Then I go to buy the next box and we still have them in our closet, but the smell is so-

Mitchell
They changed the scent.

Scarlet
The scent is so strong and it’s not a good scent. It’s like grandma Avon face cream with baby powder scent.

Mitchell
And they call it, do they call it linen, clean linen or crisp linen?

Scarlet
I didn’t look at it. I don’t need.

Mitchell
I don’t know.

Scarlet
My hygiene area is smelling like a laundry, you know, like fresh laundry. I don’t need that.

Mitchell
I just, right. So yeah, they switched up their formula.

Scarlet
So I think the, where, I can’t remember the one.

Mitchell
Is there one called Tushy Wipe?

Scarlet
Yes, those are the ones we have now and they’re my favorite.

Mitchell
Oh, because I feel like we had a couple, like the knockoff dude wipe that Walmart sells. had like a mint just a light mint yeah very light mint very light mint it was a very light mint and they’re made out of bamboo or something yeah those were good they were not but our neighborhood market does not sell them aha so those were nice the knockoff dude wipes i liked those i was like oh because it was just kind of dude wipes are good they’re just expensive

Scarlet
and they not like a lot come in a pack.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
But I think the winner is the, oh man.

Mitchell
They have like a picture of jeans on them, right?

Scarlet
Free and clean.

Mitchell
Oh.

Scarlet
I don’t remember.

Mitchell
But it’s the ones I get them from Amazon

Scarlet
and those ones are the best.

Mitchell
Wait, did we have Amazon basic ones at one point too?

Scarlet
Probably. I’ve been through a whole.

Mitchell
I was ill prepared.

Scarlet
However, let me just summarize like this.

Mitchell
Some of them are too terry.

Scarlet
Some of them have no perforations whatsoever.

Mitchell
Some of them, the scent is changed or it’s just not the scent you want to go around with. And then some of them are overpriced. So sometimes there’s a sweet spot of price and durability. Because I understand these are going in the septic system. I know there are people out there who are probably angry hearing that we use these. But they all say, all the packages say, never flush more than I think one at a time. something like that.

Scarlet
Sure.

Mitchell
I feel like they say they have a,

Scarlet
that’s probably their way of saying like,

Mitchell
whoa, whoa, whoa.

Scarlet
And I’m sure if I had a septic tank, I’d probably be more diligent about it.

Mitchell
Right. I mean.

Scarlet
But anyway, so nice and clean wipes.

Mitchell
Uh-huh.

Scarlet
100% plant-based fibers. And they’re called, and then there’s the word tush on them. Anyways, they look like this. These are solid and they’re pretty affordable.

Mitchell
Right.

Scarlet
I think it’s like $6 for this pack. I usually buy a couple of them so I can get the free same-day shipping.

Mitchell
Right. You got to get over $25, folks.

Scarlet
So, yeah, that’s what I’m tired of. And I just hope Nice and Clean does not change up their formulation because what they got going on is good.

Mitchell
After they heard this, I’m sure they are because that’s how it always seems to be.

Scarlet
It’s like when you think, oh, I really want to watch this movie. And then you’re like, this movie has to be on one of my streaming platforms. And then you look and it’s like, no, you have to rent it or buy it everywhere.

Mitchell
You’ve wheeled it out of the universe.

Scarlet
So nice and clean.

Mitchell
It was nice knowing you, but now they’ve probably changed the packaging. Because I like the flip toppers, by the way. Some of them have the peel open, whatever, the adhesive top.

Scarlet
Yeah, I don’t like that.

Mitchell
And I realize it costs a lot more plastic and everything. And no one’s thought of a better way. Some of them, I feel like I don’t like the opening. What was the one where you open it up and there’s an oval, but only one half of it is perforated? You know what I’m talking about? And you’re like, am I supposed to tear out the other part of this oval, or is it just supposed to be half? You don’t remember those?

Scarlet
No.

Mitchell
It was like, you know, you’re kind of like, okay. Anyways, the oval, okay, doesn’t matter. All right, so send in your feedback and comments about hygiene wipes, if you like, if you don’t like them, or you do. You know, I guess because some people might say, why? And this boils down to, I think we did an episode already, but the idea of like, you know, it’s just a way to freshen up without taking a shower.

Scarlet
Yeah, we could get a bidet.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
I realize that would probably be…

Mitchell
I think we talked about that at one point. So anyway, okay, well, I call them tushy wipes, but, you know.

Scarlet
Okay, so we took our first overnight trip.

Mitchell
Oh, that’s right. The big core topic. Diving right in. We just got back today, in fact.

Scarlet
Yeah.

Mitchell
From our first overnight trip without our child. Oh. Yeah. You’re looking at me like, I don’t know. The listeners don’t know. I know. Somebody has to tell them.

Scarlet
I know. So I’m letting you.

Mitchell
Oh, I was just saying, yeah. We took our first, as a part of our anniversary, you surprised me because I am not a romantic surpriser.

Scarlet
You’re not.

Mitchell
And you surprised me with overnight. We did two nights at a downtown, I’ll call it a, what is it? I have a name for a health spa, hotel health spa.

Scarlet
Yeah. Thermal Springs, actually. Thermal Springs. Yes. Hotel Thermal Springs.

Mitchell
We did that. And my mother, grandma, watched our four-year-old. And then my 16-year-old lives here, but he seems to be okay. I mean, I don’t think he needed any grandma watching him. She was just buying him ding-dongs or ho-hos.

Scarlet
Hostess cupcakes.

Mitchell
Just the cupcakes. Yeah.

Scarlet
Yeah.

Mitchell
Because that’s what grandmas do.

Scarlet
Yeah. So feed our children health foods.

Mitchell
That’s right. So Max stayed with grandma. We went to, it’s called Cascada.

Scarlet
Yeah.

Mitchell
We’re going to go with that.

Scarlet
Let me just tell the listener something about Mitchell. Because like Mitchell aspires to be a romantic, but he has zero follow through. Like he has all these great ideas of like the things that he could do, but his anxiety keeps him from doing any of it. Like zero follow through. So if the trip’s not planned by me, if the trip’s not booked by me, like it’s either it’s going to be done at the last minute if it has to be done. So pretty much the only reason that we go on vacation and we have places booked and we have plane tickets or we have an Airbnb in Sun River or we’re planning a trip up the Washington coast and we’re renting a van. I am the reason. Me. Mitchell does none of it.

Mitchell
I’m an idea man. Okay. And I feel like everybody needs a doer and a thinker.

Scarlet
You’re not. Wow. Now he is taking credit for thinking.

Mitchell
I was going to say you’re both. And in this case, you’re both. You’re the doer and the thinker.

Scarlet
So anyways, this was my idea. And when I saw how much it cost, I was like, okay, well, that’s okay. We’ve never taken an overnight trip together. It’s only 30 minutes down the road, so it’s kind of a good way to ease into it. So if something did happen, we can just hop in the car and drive back. You know? That kind of took the stress off because I feel like, say I planned a trip in Bend, three hours might have been a little out of your comfort zone. Maybe out of my comfort zone, but I’m not as anxious as you are about people dying all the time. So.

Mitchell
It does happen.

Scarlet
So I saw, I don’t even remember where I saw it. I don’t remember if it was TikTok. I don’t remember if it came up in my feed somewhere. I don’t know. Or I was just looking for a Korean style spa, which for people, a Korean style bathhouse for people who knows what that is and has been there. They’re magical. They’re lovely. but a true Korean style bathhouse has like a split male female area and it’s full nude. This was not that. This was very modern Americanized. Not the Korean, the Korean style is amazing. Love it. Right. Um, but this, this had its own thing going. So I saw it and I was like, kind of pricey for, you know, like a couple nights.

Mitchell
Right.

Scarlet
But I, and my expectations were really kind of low. I was just like, I’m not going to expect anything amazing. I’m going to take some food because I know it has a kitchenette. So like, you know, I’ll just take some food and some snacks just in case. You know, I brought.

Mitchell
Oh. it’s okay folks

Scarlet
I lost my microphone sorry we’ll just cut that out

Mitchell
probably not

Scarlet
not on the video feed

Mitchell
the audio I will if you need to bend the mic down you can

Scarlet
I don’t know what happened my expectations were low and maybe that’s why it was like far what is it weird it far surpassed my expectations It was just, I think it was just exactly what we needed. Like the room was so superior to what I could have imagined.

Mitchell
I’m so glad I got the balcony.

Scarlet
That was so, because the balcony led out to the herb garden.

Mitchell
Yes.

Scarlet
So don’t worry guys, we’ll tell you all about the magic.

Mitchell
Of Cascada.

Scarlet
Cascada, Cascada. I think it’s probably Cascada.

Mitchell
I’m going to go Cascada.

Scarlet
And it’s in downtown Portland on Alberta.

Mitchell
Alberta Arts District, which is, yeah. And that’s the east side downtown, for those of you who are playing along. So it’s actually removed from downtown central, which is one of the choices they made. They wanted to make a place that was in Portland, but not part of the busyness of downtown central.

Scarlet
And I appreciate that. That was a good call.

Mitchell
Always. And it’s a wonderful little neighborhood. The Alberta Arts District is what they call that.

Scarlet
Yeah, so I brought all this food being like, oh, I brought leftovers we had in the fridge. I bought some ramen. I’m just like, yeah, if the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant or breakfast. Hotels aren’t really doing continental breakfasts anymore.

Mitchell
Yeah, no waffle maker here.

Scarlet
No real hotel. Yeah.

Mitchell
Speak for yourself.

Scarlet
They had a little coffee shop downstairs with some snack options, which was fine. But anyways, so I kind of had scoped out the restaurants on the strip before, but I was like, oh, I don’t know. None of it’s sticking out to me. But then that morning when we took that walk, I was like, holy cow, this is so much more than I expected.

Mitchell
Lots of options in that area.

Scarlet
So anyways.

Mitchell
Yeah. Oh, well, I mean, this place. Now, some of this is from my research online and some of this is from talking to a member. Because you can get a membership there. So to kind of lay it out. Sold. It’s a hotel and they have a studio. We stayed in just like a, was that a studio? I’m not sure.

Scarlet
yeah studio studio with balcony access the classic kind of hotel style where you got a room it’s like

Mitchell
one room and a bathroom and but it’s it was my thought was it’s so very european or even uh like korean i don’t know japan but like the the types of uh appliances and the the way it’s been thought out right the the toilet was kind of and that’s my only one complaint but we can talk about that i

Scarlet
had one single complaint, which is the height of the toilet. However. Oh my, I can only reach the

Mitchell
ground, my tippy toes. However, yeah, it was like kind of kind of squarish lid, but like the, I don’t know, you know what I mean? Like none of that, there was no, I didn’t see anything said Kohler or Price Fister in the brand of the appliances. Definitely made me miss my squatty potty. Right. So the appliances, things like that were all kind of like, it just, the space was well utilized in that room it was but like solid if that makes it like that door like nothing i mean this place opened in my understanding is december forbes i think i read an article they had an opening earlier this year i think it was december maybe it was a soft open anyway it’s only been open maybe nine months at most right so but it’s like very everything’s well built and like if that makes sense like it didn’t feel like rickety you know you go to some hotels and it’s like and

Scarlet
everything in the bathroom was stone yeah yeah just like a single sink carved or i don’t know

Mitchell
if it’s carved because that’s the thing this place is should throughout it’s the only or the first commercial leeds platinum certified uh building and if you’re wondering like what does that mean yeah what does that mean i actually well i didn’t fully read it but i know that if people are into of the LEED certification. That is the rating system that LED, if you’ve heard of this, is about certified green buildings, right? And I won’t get into all of it, but like the idea is on a green building could be anything, anything. And in this case, they have solar panels. I told you they have reclaimed rainwater that are used for their toilet, for the toilet water. It should be reclaimed rainwater. They have the design. The windows are like triple panes. So there’s a high efficiency which means they’re using less energy to heat and cool the rooms uh they’re using like all that plywood in there is like reclaimed or reused plywood so there’s a certain amount of recycled materials they don’t use any um like there’s no there’s a whole bunch of well i don’t Forbes did a write-up on some of they don’t like the mattresses all are steel coils mattresses as opposed to i think whatever they put in other stuff so it has like renewable stuff natural stuff it’s lambs wool different things like that it’s so it’s like the very big into uh all the things the herb garden up top the kind of those like uh drainage systems with flowers and our plants in the drainage system as well i don’t know i didn’t get a chance to read i’m curious about their water in the pools because i was like i don’t know is this like a spring waters or an underground spring here or you know what are they doing there i don’t know but like everything about it was just like very i know it’s the kind of place that in the forbes article said it’s not a hey throw your towel if you’re please reuse your towels if you want to help save soap in the environment like there was no sign like that because the article i read was just funny they just said that’s just what other hotels do to make you feel like they’re eco-friendly but they’re really just saving the bottom line there was nothing like that here because i think they’re working on saving the bottom line really not just through making me save them money if that makes sense and it’s not like

Scarlet
it’s cheap to stay there uh either i mean you know yeah um i think without the i don’t know without About the spa pass, it was $3.50, but we paid like $4.25 for the unlimited spa pass. Oh, is the sun coming in? Because the sun is like directly on that. We’ve never done it this time of day. Is it okay? Yeah.

Mitchell
I did not realize it was there. Anyways, continue.

Scarlet
So it did have like, we stayed in a studio. So, but it did have like a kitchenette with almost a full-size fridge and freezer.

Mitchell
Yeah. Which they should advertise, as you said, like.

Scarlet
Yeah. Had I had.

Mitchell
You were just thinking like, oh, I’ll probably have some little, I don’t know.

Scarlet
Yeah. I mean, I don’t know. I probably would have, would I have saved money? You’re in the Alberta Arts District. There’s so many good restaurants.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
And you’re only there two nights. So you feel like you kind of have to take advantage of that.

Mitchell
Right.

Scarlet
So that’s a hard one.

Mitchell
Oh, a crazy.

Scarlet
But then the convection, we spent like 20 minutes.

Mitchell
Trying to figure out.

Scarlet
Because we’re like, okay, there’s pots and pans. And then you pulled out the top drawer. And then there was this like control panel. And I was like, where’s the cooktop?

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
Where’s the cook? I’m so confused. And so, and the cooktop was on the counter.

Mitchell
It was the counter. It was the counter.

Scarlet
Which is like so crazy. I mean, we didn’t cook anything, but it was still like pretty cool.

Mitchell
Yeah, no, that’s like, well, like, so yeah. And if you can imagine there’s a counter and there’s two burner, well, two zones. And because you’re using induction, just put your pan on the back. It took us a while to figure out like, oh, how does it recognize? But it did. And then it just like heats the pan, not the counter. And that was actually kind of like, it almost, I literally was like, I just want to make something now, like some pasta or something. Which I know it’s still just all the same.

Scarlet
And by the way, I also must preface that it’s a 21 and over place. So it’s all adults. Yeah. And it’s not a party. It’s 21 and over, but it’s not like a party zone. I think that’s just strictly to like keep, I don’t know, the loudness and calmness, you know, the level of calmness. Like not a lot of loud teenagers.

Mitchell
There’s not alcohol freely flowing.

Scarlet
Yeah.

Mitchell
And there’s not kids running around.

Scarlet
Right.

Mitchell
I feel like it kind of demographically or catering. It’s saying it’s making that statement. Like, look, this is because you’re going there for calm, serenity, not, you know, this is not the whatever club med.

Scarlet
And there was a washer and dryer. And behind door number two was like a pretty good sized washer and dryer. It was very they were very quiet.

Mitchell
Didn’t make a lot of noise.

Scarlet
I don’t know what the brand was.

Mitchell
It must have been some. It was like Hoka. German. Hoka is the shoe.

Scarlet
Or Japanese, very quiet, high efficiency.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
And yeah, a TV. And then our balcony led out to the most beautiful herb garden. Right. Like at first I did not know it was an herb garden. You just kind of go out and I’m like, oh my gosh, look at all this rosemary.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
Everywhere. And you could like the wind would blow and you would have this like smell of fresh rosemary. there were some other herb thyme oregano mustard greens some onions growing in one corner and a

Mitchell
couple varieties of rosemary i saw yeah and and then i even saw a gardener out there so so

Scarlet
lovely yeah just so everything about it was just i have no notes wait hold on my only note your note was the toilet yeah my note was oh the outdoor chairs oh yeah yeah would that have been different

Mitchell
if I wasn’t so sore from sore and we’ll get to that yeah so so we I did the unlimited um hotel

Scarlet
spa with hotel thermal springs which also include like fitness classes unlimited fitness classes so and we didn’t go too crazy and they’d have yoga and they have some strength training and I think they’re working on getting in more like meditation classes and stuff like that too But we went to a yoga class. It’s a heated yoga studio. And sometimes we do heated, non-heated things. So I was like, oh, okay. So before we check in, or we’ll see if we can check in a little early, because check-ins at four. But I scheduled a 4 p.m. warm sculpt and stretch yoga class. I was like, that will be.

Mitchell
That will be a way to ease into this weekend or this week, this little staycation.

Scarlet
That’ll be a great way to like, you know, stretch, get our bodies warm, feel like we’ve exercised, like check a box. We’re out here doing this for a full reset, right?

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
Like, because we have been kind of putting things off, our health off, mental health, all of it off to the wayside. It really just gets pushed to the side when you’re just in the monotony of like daily life. And now I have to do this. And now I have to do dinner. Now I have to clean this. And now I have to clean that. Because now that I’m cleaning this, I realize that’s dirty. Yeah. And it was just so nice to get away. So anyways, we go to this sculpting stretch class. Yeah.

Mitchell
I mean, the stretch was really just kind of an afterthought, as it turns out.

Scarlet
So yeah, we’re getting weights and resistance bands. And I’m just like, okay, all right.

Mitchell
We’re sculpting. All right.

Scarlet
Yeah. This is what, and so I was like, I’ll get myself a medium band or I’ll get Mitchell a medium, you know, resistance band. And I’ll get my, no, and I’ll get myself the, the, um, lightweight resistance band.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
And then about, you know, 400 squats in Mitchell’s like, I need a different band.

Mitchell
Yeah. I’m not. Yeah.

Scarlet
I was like, just give me your band.

Mitchell
The sculpting.

Scarlet
So Mitchell ended up having to take. And I will say, Mitchell might need to work on his booty a little bit more.

Mitchell
That’s fine. I’ll admit it.

Scarlet
But you do hate legs, right?

Mitchell
Oh, yeah.

Scarlet
Aren’t you, like the way I hate abs, where it’s like you’re in a class and you’re doing abs and they’re like, and keep doing it.

Mitchell
Just a few more.

Scarlet
I’m going to be like, come over here so I can punch you in the face.

Mitchell
I get that ragey burn or just like rage juice flows through my system with legs.

Scarlet
And this was like 80% legs.

Mitchell
When we get in, she’s like, oh, it’s an hour long. It’ll be actually more like 55 of sculpting and a little bit of stretching or something. She just gave some numbers.

Scarlet
I thought it would be like half and half. I’d be like, oh my gosh, like a little bit of sculpting and some like warm stretching.

Mitchell
We’ll work you hard and then we’ll just kind of stretch for a while.

Scarlet
But it was 50 minutes of sculpt, 10 minutes of stretching. And Mitchell was dying.

Mitchell
Oh, I’m like, and you were doing great over there?

Scarlet
I mean, I was doing better than you, but I wouldn’t say great.

Mitchell
Okay, fine. Wow. Okay. I didn’t realize.

Scarlet
So anyways, I ended up taking Mitchell’s medium band. He took my small, my light resistance band. And we did it.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
And then we were walking out. And as we were going down the stairs or up the stairs, back to our room, upstairs.

Mitchell
We were headed somewhere.

Scarlet
I was like, ooh, the way my legs feel. Like, they just felt jiggly while I was just like, these are going. Yeah. Like, they were kind of giving out underneath me. I was like, this is going to hurt tomorrow. What have I done? I don’t know. It’s just like, I’m like, why did I do this? We’re going to be in so much pain.

Mitchell
I’m still in pain.

Scarlet
No, I still struggle. It’s a good pain.

Mitchell
Getting up and down of things or walking or just moving.

Scarlet
Getting in the car, getting out of the car. And I’m like, this must be how Mitchell’s dad feels every day.

Mitchell
Yeah, just like, I don’t know.

Scarlet
Every day.

Mitchell
Maybe he’s doing a lot of resistance band squats. We don’t know about.

Scarlet
that we don’t even know about. He could be like, you know,

Mitchell
throwing up some big numbers. So, and that was four to five. And then I was like, okay, nice. Okay, this is, well, I’m glad we’re both gonna be disabled

Scarlet
for the rest of this trip. I know. And then did we go to the thermal springs after that?

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
Okay.

Mitchell
So, which is really, I would say, not, it’s, I would say it’s the focus. But I mean, the focus really is mind-body wellness, I think. They have something on the outside. I’m just going to call that because…

Scarlet
And they had a strength training room.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
They had a cardio room.

Mitchell
Cardio room.

Scarlet
My understanding is they’re also expanding

Mitchell
or they’re doing some more with their gym. According to the guy who’s a member, he’s like, oh no, they’re still kind of slowly adding stuff. They’re still working on the space. But yeah, there’s locker rooms that we didn’t go in because we didn’t need them. We had our own room, but there’s locker rooms up there. It kind of should have poked in there. Sometimes you find a little hidden gym in there. like oh yeah but uh yeah we went to the so the the um is it actually so what do they call it it was just the thermal springs but yeah but you walk in you can get a pass for three hours for

Scarlet
100 bucks 100 bucks anyone which is actually pretty good yeah i mean or 110 bucks if you also want to throw a fitness class in there right so you got that so yeah it’s kind of interesting

Mitchell
so you go into the second level of the whole thing to get into that area and they get you got a robe

Scarlet
when you get slippers and they hand you a towel. And you have your swimsuit on because it’ll even tell you on the thing, like swimsuit robe.

Mitchell
Because at first I was like,

Scarlet
this isn’t all new. No, there’s no way. That’s not how.

Mitchell
I mean, it is Portland, but.

Scarlet
Americans are programmed to be hyper, I don’t know.

Mitchell
Modest, right?

Scarlet
I guess. Well, I mean,

Mitchell
well, I wouldn’t say that either because I saw some of the swimsuits. I wasn’t looking.

Scarlet
This is the religion that’s been beating us

Mitchell
about hyper modesty and okay okay we’ll tone it down there okay so yeah you go through the second level and then you kind of go through and you enter into it’s like a solarium yeah it’s called the solarium so and that we never went over on the little edge there’s like a they have there’s a name for it they have a rare plant collection there or world plants because the solarium has that has a roof that’s solar but also sun passes through so it’s kind of cool that’s i was looking at there’s our solar panels So you get like a 50-50, that glass roof. That solarium has a pool. That pool is heated at, oh, I knew all the pool degrees.

Scarlet
86 degrees, right? 86 degrees, yeah. Yeah.

Mitchell
It’s 86 degrees. That area has, and it has like little, what are those loungers? They’re not like-

Scarlet
Oh, like little day beds.

Mitchell
You can hang out or different spaces. And then there’s little outdoor nooks.

Scarlet
And it’s so beautiful. Like it’s so bright. And there’s so much green from just like, they have these huge like fiddle leaf fig trees. and all these like air plants and stuff everywhere.

Mitchell
And it’s just so lovely. It’s like so tastefully done. Yeah. And there’s like, they got water and then tea. You can have herbal tea. It’s like a Roy Boss tea, I think, that they have. And then there you can go outside. And they, oh, here’s the thing. They do have a sign. Hey, you got to take a shower before you enter any of the pools. And there’s an outside, it has a little shower outside. and then downstairs, which is the sanctuary, which we’ll talk about. But if you go outside there, too, they have like a little open air patio. What do you want? A garden that has…

Scarlet
It’s called the secret garden.

Mitchell
Oh, the secret garden.

Scarlet
There’s a place to shower.

Mitchell
There’s a really awesome sauna out there. There is a hot tub out there. There’s a cold rain shower, like walk under, super big cold shower. And then a giant fire pit, the kind of like sunken fire pit with a, you know, like gas of fire rocks in the middle. But that’s the kind you can walk, you kind of step down.

Scarlet
And then everything is like, you know, kind of teak wood, cedar.

Mitchell
Yeah, lots of wood there.

Scarlet
Gray, green, you know, because then, you know, inside they have the limestone-like tile or whatever. But then everything else is like smooth cement.

Mitchell
Right.

Scarlet
And cedar, wood, green.

Mitchell
There was bamboo. There was that wonderful little space out there. That’s a social space. They make it clear. Social, talk, whatever. Social inside the solarium. And then the solarium has a little outdoor window seating area, like little things where you can just sit outside, but you’re still connected. And then there’s the main feature to me, which is the sanctuary, which then you go downstairs, which is subterranean.

Scarlet
Before you go down, it says no cell phone area. So I would usually just wear my robe down, but tuck my cell phone fit perfectly into my robe pocket.

Mitchell
So I just put it on, do not disturb.

Scarlet
Yeah.

Mitchell
And then you go down there into the sanctuary, which is then they have their thermal treatment regimen, which you do. But it’s a no talking, no cell phone area down there. And it’s dark. I mean, it’s got some lighting, but it’s definitely.

Scarlet
It’s dark. Right. It’s like this cave-like vibe with this echoing ambient music.

Mitchell
Combined with this cascading waterfall on the mineral pool.

Scarlet
With the ambient lighting. And it’s just so lovely.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
And nobody’s talking. Everybody’s just kind of doing their own thing. You can look at the chart and say, do you want to do the detox? Do you want to do the skin? Do you want to do the endorphin?

Mitchell
Right, endorphin rush. Or their whole system is all nine steps together. One, two, three, four, six, seven, eight, nine. And so down in the sanctuary, which is really, yeah, it sounds like an ad. And everyone’s like, I don’t need to know about this cascada. We don’t have stock or anything. They have in this space, there is a sauna, an infrared sauna.

Scarlet
Infrared sauna. Infrared sauna.

Mitchell
There’s a series of showers with their, they have all their scent, their hair and body

Scarlet
wash and conditioner, all wonderful scents. Maybe like spa-like, you know, amber, jasmine, eucalyptus.

Mitchell
Kind of a wonderful, they have showers there. Then they have, there’s some restrooms. They have water and ice water. Then they have a hot tub, which is 101 degrees. They have a cold tub or a cold area, which was 55 degrees. They have what they call their, what was the one?

Scarlet
Mineral?

Mitchell
Well, there’s the mineral pool. The ambient pool was 98 degrees. there’s the mineral pool which is 91 degrees and then there’s a steam room and i guess we have to go into all the different like but all of these spaces uh you know they and they’re in for example

Scarlet
like the oh and then don’t forget the ice exfoliating station oh yeah and then there’s an ice fountain because i my personal favorite was the skin care right routine which was like 10 to 15 minutes in the steam room and then two to three minutes two to three minutes of like you And then you came out of the steam room and there was this area where just fresh ice was coming out into this beautiful blue glowing bowl.

Mitchell
Right.

Scarlet
It was just landing in this bowl. People would pick it up and then you’re supposed to like exfoliate your face, your, you know, your whole body.

Mitchell
It’s just skin, yeah, for two to three minutes.

Scarlet
And then you go soak in the mineral pool, which had the waterfall going into it.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
For 10 to 20 minutes.

Mitchell
That was my favorite. In the mineral pool, again, 91 degrees. So is that what I said? Yeah.

Scarlet
Yeah.

Mitchell
91 degrees. So it’s just kind of pleasant. And that’s where I meant the research. I was curious, like, is the water, is it actual mineral water in the other ones? Or is that what they’re just calling that one? Because I will say this. Overall, this place, one, you could blindfold someone and lead them down anywhere in that space. And they would not know there’s a pool there. And what I’m getting at is it does not smell one ounce like a pool anywhere. Like, it does not. which I think speaks to a couple of things. One, their filtration is supposed to be really good. They’re not using, oh, I don’t know. They’re not using chemicals or they’re using some natural system. I don’t know if they’re salt or I really don’t know. But I’m saying even when you’re in the water, it did not have a smell. All the pools, crystal clear. I didn’t see gobs of hair or like whatever that is. So I think people are being respectful of shower first, I believe. I’m hoping so. shower first and something about it. I mean, so I guess that was what I come away was like, they’re so clean, like all those pools.

Scarlet
Yeah, and the floors were stone. So like water would get on the floors, obviously,

Mitchell
but they weren’t slippery because of the type of stone.

Scarlet
And then eventually the stone would just absorb the water.

Mitchell
Yeah, so I just, that space, so wonderful. And that would go like, I could have, you know, and all of them are three foot, three inches, three and a half feet deep. So they’re just like-

Scarlet
Yeah, so you could sit down in them and your shoulders would be submerged. All of them had a bench around the edges.

Mitchell
A bench that you could sit on and then, yeah. Oh, yeah, so that space. And again, that dark and it just allowed for, yeah, I don’t know, just really reconnecting, meditating, breathing.

Scarlet
Yeah, and then you would go into the dry sauna and it would be the same music.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
You would still be able to hear it. The only place that you couldn’t hear the music was in the steam sauna.

Mitchell
Yeah, that’s just because you had that.

Scarlet
You know, it would be like the sound bowls or different, what are they called? Different bells or just different kind of solfegeo frequencies.

Mitchell
Right.

Scarlet
So music that you would meditate to. Yeah, you’re good.

Mitchell
So that focused on me somehow?

Scarlet
Yes.

Mitchell
So sorry, that was a video trick. So yeah, that space. And then there was still like space if you just want to sit in that area. There was some bench spaces and a couple of chairs. And, yeah, I mean, that space really was just like the sanctuary. We spent quite a bit, most of our time there, I would say, doing the different rituals.

Scarlet
I mean, I am honestly like, you know me. I’m like, I’m ready to sell this place.

Mitchell
I moved it.

Scarlet
Buy myself a little place, buy ourselves a little condo in the Alberta Arts District because I feel safe there. I feel like those are my people.

Mitchell
You know what I mean?

Scarlet
And like get a membership there.

Mitchell
Yeah. Yeah. I mean.

Scarlet
$200 a month.

Mitchell
But still.

Scarlet
Fitness classes, a gym, and this. It’s kind of a steal right now. Honestly.

Mitchell
The guy that I talked to was a member. He was, you know, he was a little younger than me. Probably in his 40s. But he was like, oh yeah. He loves it because he’s so close. He runs there. He could walk. And he gets in whatever. Hops in the sauna. Can do a workout. Still goes to work. It was just kind of like, yeah. I think it’d totally be a no-brainer. Because you commented on this, like, this is how a wellness center should be, right? And I’m not down, I’m not, you know, poo-pooing, like, 24-hour fitness and those kind of places.

Scarlet
Well, I am, because you know what? I’m so tired of them being hyper-fixated on the frickin’ meathead or cardio freaks. Like, we’re going to be all like, here’s our cardio station, here’s our weightlifting station, and here’s our broken steam sauna.

Mitchell
Oh, yeah. How many of those have we been to?

Scarlet
You’re doing it wrong.

Mitchell
Right.

Scarlet
You’re doing it wrong. I would join a place just for a steam sauna.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
Well, I’m not going to join 24-Hour Fitness just for the steam. But what I’m saying is this place is doing it right.

Mitchell
Yeah. No, I agree. And it’s because they’re looking at the whole wellness thing. So I would go there just because, you know, I love water and pools. And normally I’m like, I’ve got to have a diving board. But there I was like, I’m just in heaven floating. And just being underwater, I just love that sensation, everything about that place. In fact, I think if I was going to pick my favorite, I think the mineral pool was probably my favorite because the temperature was just right.

Scarlet
I mean, at 91. And the waterfall coming down. Yeah, and the noise.

Mitchell
So when I’d be underwater, I could hear the music and the water trizzling in, which I like that sound and sensation. And the way the light on the ceiling would reflect the waterfall.

Scarlet
Yes, I noticed that too. I was like, this is so, ugh.

Mitchell
And then the waves in that pool. I sat in one specific spot with my back against waterfall wall. And if you looked at a certain, this, or at least I kept checking. If you looked at a certain way, the ceiling would have the reflection and you could see the ripples in the water. And it almost made me motion sick because it had this weird moving. I felt like I was moving, which sounds really weird. But I kept trying to see like, where is this zone that I got that I have to look just right.

Scarlet
sorry symbol hit uh to see this weird i will say me and mitchell in the cold pool it was pretty

Mitchell
pathetic yeah it was pretty pathetic the recipe on that was hot tub i think 15 minutes 10 to 15 minutes in the hot tub and then the cold one cold plunge two to three minutes just that one this is

Scarlet
the endorphin one and then after that then you went to the ambient yeah and that was uh two to

Mitchell
three seconds. I worked up to maybe 20 seconds and it’s 55 degrees. Um, I could, the thing is,

Scarlet
is like, I, I, when I went, I was so proud of myself that I could, that I could even go from the hot tub to the cold plunge. Cause that is such a, I was like, maybe I got to work my way up to it and get colder or some, you know, do cooler, do the ice thing and then do it. Right. But that kind It’s the purpose, I suppose. But yeah, I went in and I put my head under and I was like, I can do this. And then I was like, just take deep breaths. And then I was like, I can’t take, I can’t breathe. I can’t, I can’t. And then I would panic and like get out as quickly as I could. But I was just like, I’m so bad at this. And then you would see the freaks go in there. And I don’t really mean that. They would just go sit in there.

Mitchell
Yeah, that one guy.

Scarlet
And I would be like, are they okay? Does somebody need to check to see if they’re still with us?

Mitchell
And if not, then we could probably revive them just because their temperature of their body is so low. That one guy, I was there. He was still going hot tub and then four or five minutes in the cold tub, hot tub back and forth. And I felt like it was an affront on my manhood because he was rubbing it in. And I’m like, well, I’m going to do this, but I’m going in there for, I’m going to try 10 seconds, buddy. So, but luckily there’s no talking, but I felt his eyes were probably like looking at me like, you poor fool.

Scarlet
That’s the thing about the quiet too, is you realize how much your mind, and we had our Apple watches. So we were kind of keeping track of the time because if you’re going to do the routines, try to keep track of the time. you learn I don’t know sometimes I’m like it just felt like almost like meditating for hours or you realize how much in your head you are and what you start thinking about and how you start noticing other people and I really had to train myself or rein myself in to be like no just listen to the music listen to the water

Mitchell
it was definitely a challenge at times but i i think i went through all the emotions down you did

Scarlet
there were a lot of tears from yeah our boy mitchell i felt like at times here’s what i

Mitchell
honestly this no i felt like it had the same very similar effect as a psychedelic trip i’ll just leave it at that like a very like like otherworldly if i close my eyes i could start to see like images or fractals or just like like i was like and then i just could feel like and may not as intense i’m just saying like it definitely sparked some things in me and even to a point where i was actually a little bit like frightened at one point because i was having one of my time I mean, my time things where I was like, I couldn’t tell, but I was awesome. But also it was very much like a release. Like I was, I told you I came my last little venture. I was like, you know, I decided that I need to take away something from this place, but I also need to leave something here emotionally, you know, whatever it is. I was like, I’m going to, I have to make this exchange because otherwise it’s not worth it. Like that was what I, the conversation I had in my head. But yeah, a lot of tears just like feeling this like, oh, I can let go. It was like, oh, it was just something about the water and just the space. I felt it was very conducive for me to allow myself to just feel. But yeah, that quietness could also settle in and suddenly realize how noisy my head is.

Scarlet
Yeah. How noisy my mind is.

Mitchell
And I thought, oh, this is a good test for me because I’m usually so strong. Yeah. As when I’m up in that sauna and I’m with some other guy and I finally have to just talk.

Scarlet
In the talking side. I have to talk to somebody. And then you kind of forget that you can even talk up there.

Mitchell
Yeah. It’s still pretty quiet. You get so used to the sanctuary that you don’t… I’m whispering up in the top.

Scarlet
So if you’re looking to visit Portland or if you’re already living in the Portland area, even better, this place is a gem.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
You really should check it out.

Mitchell
You could… I mean, we’ve talked about how would we do the second time or what would we do?

Scarlet
I would definitely stay in the hotel again. I want to eat at that restaurant there because people really say that it’s pretty amazing.

Mitchell
Yeah. No, it’s called Terimei.

Scarlet
Terimei.

Mitchell
Terimei, which it’s actually, sorry, it’s actually Teramai because it’s Portuguese.

Scarlet
Oh, okay. It’s Portuguese-Japanese fusion, right?

Mitchell
So it means my mother’s earth. But it was closed and we didn’t know. That would be, I wouldn’t call it a gripe, but I wish they would have put a thing out front that said private event because we roll in.

Scarlet
Like they did downstairs the next morning.

Mitchell
We roll in and they’re like, oh, it’s a private event. It’s like, oh, we kind of planned it in our schedule. But there was so many options. It was okay. So we wanted to try that. It was funny too. Sorry. Because they’re like, the guy downstairs, remember, we were like, should we, we’re parked in a two hour zone. His name was Toby. Sorry, Toby. I’m numb. You said, don’t. He said, no, you didn’t hear from me. He’s like, but.

Scarlet
Classic Mitchell having to tell the name.

Mitchell
He’s like, he’s like, sorry, you’re fine out there. I’ll tell you what we own. The parking lot’s filled up because there’s a super glue event going on and we own all the four sides and no one, we’re not going to call any toes. And I was like, oh, okay. He’s like, so that’s why everything’s kind of a private event. I was like, he’s like, you didn’t hear from me, but your car’s okay. I was like, oh, perfect. Perfect.

Scarlet
And then I was like, man, there’s like a super glue.

Mitchell
I know.

Scarlet
And you were like, does super glue have a headquarters? And I was like, that just like does not sound right.

Mitchell
And you’re like, maybe super cool. I was like, I don’t know. I was like.

Scarlet
Maybe he was like super cool event.

Mitchell
I don’t know.

Scarlet
Private event that you guys aren’t a part of. No, it wasn’t like that.

Mitchell
I get meeting like, I got to search as super glue. Hey, is that even a brand? I kept thinking like, is super glue? Isn’t it crazy glue?

Scarlet
Is super glue just a term? I was kind of.

Mitchell
I wasted cycles on this.

Scarlet
Well, you found out today.

Mitchell
From my buddy that I didn’t. I didn’t ask his name. I let us be just whatever. I just, when he was like, he goes, oh yeah, there’s no parking currently because of Subaru. And I was like, ah, Subaru. I was like, the guy at the front, I thought he said super glue. And he’d laugh. I think he goes.

Scarlet
So Subaru, I was having an event.

Mitchell
And the whole parking lot.

Scarlet
Some employees or shareholders. I don’t know, but they were doing them right.

Mitchell
He said they rented out half of that whole hotel.

Scarlet
Wow.

Mitchell
For Subaru. And I don’t know if it was a Subaru dealership. It didn’t really, nobody knew, but so Subaru, Super Clue.

Scarlet
Oh my gosh, I never did ask what that gong thing was.

Mitchell
Yeah, I think maybe that was one of those. Because a girl came through the sanctuary,

Scarlet
sanctuary? Yeah, she came through the sanctuary and she was ringing a gong.

Mitchell
What’s not a gong? It’s one of those like Tibetan bell things

Scarlet
or whatever you call it.

Mitchell
A gong is a different.

Scarlet
And I looked at Mitchell like, should we be doing something? And then we looked around at other people and we like maybe a couple people left. And I looked at my watch to see

Mitchell
If it was like on the hour.

Scarlet
I know, but it was like 444.

Mitchell
Yeah, it was a weird time. Because it was my angel number.

Scarlet
And I remember being like, what is going on at 444?

Mitchell
Yeah, I just kind of went.

Scarlet
Maybe that was my sign.

Mitchell
Maybe she’s letting you know. I think it was for the super glue people to know if you’re part of the super glue. Because then she went over and bent over and said something to somebody. And I remember thinking, it’s a quiet space.

Scarlet
But those ladies were old.

Mitchell
Yeah, I don’t know.

Scarlet
And so I don’t think they were part of the super glue.

Mitchell
for the for the most part by the way the sanctuary is no speaking but we violated the rule when it was just me or you in a steam room yeah and we didn’t chat a ton i mean off and on but it was like but in not loud or you know we’d whisper really close to each other’s ears in the pool mainly because you’re like hey i’m gonna go to the bathroom but and i feel like other people i mean I feel like there’s enough extra noise going on down there that it’s not I’m not saying you can talk I’m just saying like pardon me feel guilty I’m just saying I’m sorry folks if I talked a little bit in the thing no one was around well you weren’t like that one couple who was like in the

Scarlet
corner of the pool the first day we were there and I could hear them and I was like okay do you not

Mitchell
know what’s up there’s signs everywhere like the lip and the this thing going on and they’re right

Scarlet
by the waterfall so she was like yeah speaking so he could hear her and i’m like can you okay

Mitchell
whatever i saw one of the uh employees come through though at one point did i don’t know if it’s that group but did i saw the employee go this did like a mouth symbol and i was like oh thank you you know me because i’d be getting militant i would be the guy yeah mitchell is very i don’t know but i feel like everyone was respectful of that because even if i caught something from a distance i would know it was a couple and someone just being like hey i’m gonna go up to the other okay you know like i’m not it wasn’t like people over there cackling it up so yeah this was our six-year anniversary

Scarlet
trip we feel refreshed we feel rejuvenated what did you take away that i want to be a member there okay then you want to move to alberta i need to make this happen in the next two to three years.

Mitchell
It is inspiring because it is like, it’s just the kind of thing like where we don’t take care, I mean, we don’t have time in general, but we don’t take care of ourselves as a whole. And a place like this just reminds you, like there are places that are looking at the whole. And I think they’re, like you said, they’re adding more, probably more meditative stuff. They’re continuing, they’re still kind of building this place out. It’s still brand new and working on that. So I think, you know, it’s inspiring.

Scarlet
Yeah, you know Clint Eastwood’s doing this stuff at 95 years old.

Mitchell
Yeah.

Scarlet
What was his regimen again?

Mitchell
He eats low-fat.

Scarlet
High-protein diet. High-protein diet.

Mitchell
And meditation. It was like, I don’t remember, something meditation. Some kind of meditation.

Scarlet
Yeah.

Mitchell
95. No, I was going to bring that up. Doing great. Yeah, it works for Clint Eastwood. So I don’t know.

Scarlet
Yeah.

Mitchell
Well, okay. Any final thoughts? So you took away that that’s where you want to move to a place like that. Like you’re.

Scarlet
Yeah, I felt like I said, I felt at home there. I felt safe. I felt like these are this neighborhood. These are my people. This place is not.

Mitchell
I’m sorry.

Scarlet
It’s not my people.

Mitchell
But yeah.

Scarlet
So and we’ve been in that area for other things.

Mitchell
When we were walking, oh, that’s right. And X, Y, Z. And I’m like, oh, yeah. And I was talking to the guy in the sauna. By the way, that sauna, the outdoor sauna in the secret garden, that thing is awesome. So if you imagine a sauna with one glass wall that overlooks the rest of the garden, I mean, that thing is like amazing. I’m sorry, and the woodwork in there with the curb. Anyways, he’s in that area, and we were just talking about some different places. Because I noticed that Barista was gone. He’s like, yeah, and I think Ristretto. But anyways, he gave me a coffee shop recommendation and some other things. We were talking about the restaurants kind of coming and going in the area and some of that stuff. So anyway, so good people. Yeah, he was like, we had a good chat, you know, best friends practically there.

Scarlet
Oh, and we did have brunch at the 10 Shed Cafe.

Mitchell
Yes.

Scarlet
And we sat at the bar. Like it was a wait, like 30, 35 minute wait, unless we wanted to sit at the bar and we were like, yeah. Sign us up. And like the bartender slash waitress, she was phenomenal. Veronica. Okay. Yeah.

Mitchell
I was going to say her name. I’m sorry. If she’s trying to lay low from somebody.

Scarlet
The food was delicious.

Mitchell
Yeah. No, everything.

Scarlet
The mimosas were strong.

Mitchell
Yes. I didn’t even know that I called that a mimosa. That was just a pint of champagne.

Scarlet
We had to go detox.

Mitchell
Anyways.

Scarlet
And detox we did.

Mitchell
But yeah, good neighborhood, good area. So take a staycation there if you’re local. Come visit it if you’re not.

Scarlet
It’s definitely worth staying at the hotel if you just want to be away from your own place for a night.

Mitchell
Yeah. And I determined, I didn’t ask, but I remember I was saying, what if you check out by noon, but we had these bracelets.

Scarlet
Yeah.

Mitchell
We had an all-access bracelet or all ours. And I thought, you know what? I bet if you checked out at like 1130, did the front desk ask us for a bracelet or did I give them to them?

Scarlet
We just put them up there.

Mitchell
with our keys because i was contemplating would it be possible to keep the bracelets well no just like check out hmm okay i don’t know now because i was thinking like oh you could check out but still like before noon but then like if you could check into the place with your bracelet to get in before then okay i don’t care okay anyway i want to go pick up our little boy okay so well we are so that’s about it i mean what else can we say

Scarlet
nothing so i mean that leaves sorry we talked about i mean we just had a lot to say it was a

Mitchell

Scarlet

Mitchell
21 and over bridal amazing wait uh what do you call it not a bridal shower a bachelorette party Bachelorette party, but not a kind that you’re focused on good health, not getting plastered. A lot of good reasons to go there. So I think that’s a way of doing the least, which would be the most for yourself.

Scarlet
That’s right. I love that.

Mitchell
Until next time.

Scarlet
I’m Scarlet.

Mitchell
I’m Mitchell.

Scarlet
Bye!
